A great day hike for hikers who like to discover the diamond trails to incredible waterfalls close to Lençóis.  The hike is of a moderate difficulty level but there are some challenging parts, to get to the Primavera waterfall for example. 

Bring of your own:

• Walking boots or very good shoes with a good sole!
• Sweater ( for the fresh mornings in the winter: 14 to 18 C° )
• Rain Jacket
• Small backpack (15L)
• Sunscreen ! ! !
• Hat ! ! !
• Sunglasses
• Swim suit
• Camera
• Water bottle ( we drink the very clean water of the rivers )

• Be aware that you will be hiking for 4-5 hours on this day if you choose this tour.
• There is a great rock slide at the Ribeirão do Meio, ask the guide to show the best way to slide down, to avoid you hurt yourself a little bit.
• To go to the Primavera waterfall you need to hike up 100m quite steep.  Your guide can decide to go there only with a part of the group.

Hoje vamos conhecer as belíssimas corredeiras de Lençóis. Um tobogã natural imenso , e as várias cachoeiras e calderões de hidromassagem do Parque da Muritiba.

Serão vários banhos durante o passeio.  O passeio é todo feito a pé, não há carro neste dia, sairemos às 8h30min do ponto de encontro na praça do Banco do Brasil.

Primeiro iremos visitar o Parque Municipal da Muritiba que oferece pequenos poços de água (buracos de erosão) com hidromassagem natural, cachoeiras, mirante e belas formações geológicas, o famoso conglomerado, onde foram encontrados muitos diamantes.

A primeira parada para quem visita o Parque da Muritiba é o Serrano, onde um conjunto de corredeiras forma vários poços entre as pedras com deliciosas hidromassagens naturais. Um ótimo começo de trilha! O percurso continua em meio a belas formações rochosas, onde o destaque são os paredões conhecidos como Salão de Areia Coloridas. No local, é possível ver rochas com diferentes tonalidades, de onde eram extraídas as areias coloridas para fazer artesanatos em garrafas. Hoje, o local é protegido e não há mais extração do material.

MURITIBA PARK AND RIBEIRÃO DO MEIO (Serrano, Primavera waterfall, Poço Halley, Sand Hall, Lençóis Viewpoint)

Today we will discover the beautiful swimming holes and waterfalls of Lençóis. An immense natural rock slide, and the many waterfalls and hydromassage whirlpools of Parque da Muritiba.

There will be several baths during the tour. The tour is all done on foot, there is no car on this day, we will leave at 8:30 am from the meeting point at Banco do Brasil square.

First we will visit the Muritiba Municipal Park which offers many swimming spots like waterfalls and erosion holes with natural hydromassage. There is a  viewpoint and beautiful geological formations, the famous conglomerate, where many diamonds were found.

The first stop for those visiting Muritiba Park is the Serrano, where a set of rapids form several erosion holes between the rocks with delicious natural hydromassage. A great start to the trail! The route continues in the midst of beautiful rock formations, where the highlight are the walls known as Salão de Areia Coloridas. In this place, it is possible to see rocks with different tones, from where the colored sands were extracted to make crafts in bottles. Today, the site is protected and there is no more extraction of the material.

After passing the Salão de Areias, the trail continues to Poço Halley. Further on, after a small but intense climb of 100m , it is time for a delicious bath is Cachoeira da Primavera. After a swim in Cachoeira da Primavera, the tour continues to the Mirante de Lençóis, from where you have a wide view of Chapada Diamantina and the city of Lençóis. Further on, the attraction is Cachoeirinha, where a large well allows swimming in very transparent waters.

It is also possible to practice climbing in Parque da Muritiba. The tour follows a similar route to the trail, but it lasts all day and there are several stops for the practice of outdoor sports.

After lunch in the center of Lençóis, we will continue to the famous Ribeirão do Meio. A pleasant and almost flat trail of 3.8km (7km round trip) leads to a natural rock slide and a large natural pool. The immense rock slide is a formation of conglomerate stones, ideal for sliding, a true “natural toboggan” that is pure adrenaline.
